El lunes 08 de abril tuvimos por segunda vez en el CNY, un agente cultural de la organización YMCA, mediante un convenio entre dicha organización y el Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras. Su nombre es Jeremy Juri, un nativo estadounidense proveniente de California y con ascendencia Filipina. En esta oportunidad los niños pudieron hacer preguntas relacionadas a la unidad de indagación en quinto grado: Quiénes somos.
Él compartió experiencias personales en la construcción de su identidad: su lugar de origen, sus viajes, sus gustos y pasatiempos. El ejercicio giró en torno a preguntas de la entrevista oral del examen Flyers y especialmente las preguntas personales, lo que sin duda va a contribuir al mejoramiento del manejo de la segunda lengua, de cara al examen internacional Flyers que nuestro niños presentan en este curso. El Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras estará trabajando para que los estudiantes tengan más experiencias con hablantes nativos a lo largo del año y extiende un agradecimiento a todos los participantes en esta interesantísima actividad.
On Monday April 8, we had for the second time at the CNY a cultural agent of the YMCA organization. This is an agreement between this organization and the Department of Foreign Languages of our school. The name of our guest is Jeremy Juri and he is an American native from California with Filipino heritage. In this opportunity the children had the chance to ask questions related to the unit of inquiry in fifth grade: Who we are. He shared personal experiences in the construction of his identity: his place of birth, his trips, his likes and dislikes and his hobbies. The exercise has to do with questions from the oral interview of the Flyers exam and especially the personal questions. This experience will undoubtedly contribute to improving the management of the second language of our students for the international exam Flyers that our children will present in this year. The Department of Foreign Languages will be working so that students have more experiences with native speakers throughout the year and extends a thank you to all the participants in this very interesting activity.
