Exploring Nature: First-Grade Adventures at the Wetland and Faunaticos Theme Park
In the pursuit of fostering curiosity and a love for the natural world, our First-grade students embarked on a memorable adventure in late August and early September. They had the incredible opportunity to visit the nearby wetland and the Faunaticos Theme Park, where they discovered the wonders of plants and animals up close.
Our young explorers ventured to the wetland located just a stone’s throw away from our school. The wetland provided the perfect setting for students to connect with nature. With guidance from their teachers and environmental experts, they engaged in various activities aimed at deepening their understanding of the ecosystem. Additionally, our young scholars had the privilege of observing local wildlife in its natural habitat. They encountered various animals and learned about their unique characteristics and importance in the ecosystem. This experience sparked countless questions and an eagerness to dive deeper into the world of plants and animals.
The adventure continued on September 5th, when our first-grade students visited the Faunaticos Theme Park. Here, they were treated to an immersive experience in a themed environment designed to inspire wonder and appreciation for the animal and plant kingdom. One of the highlights of the day was learning how to plant a seedling and nurture it to growth. This hands-on experience left a lasting impression on the students, igniting their curiosity about the natural world.
These remarkable experiences were designed to provoke curiosity and encourage questions. As a result, our young learners are now embarking on an exciting inquiry process as part of our unit “How the World Works”. They are determined to find answers to the many questions that emerged during their adventures.
The wetland and Faunaticos Theme Park visits have not only enriched our students’ understanding of plants and animals but have also ignited a passion for environmental stewardship. As they delve into their inquiry process, we can’t wait to see the knowledge they uncover and the positive impact they will undoubtedly have on their surroundings.
We are immensely proud of our first-grade students and their eagerness to explore, learn, and protect the natural world. We look forward to witnessing their continued growth and discoveries in the months to come.
